Villars Ski and Snowboard Holidays

Villars is located on a sunny plateau looking across the Rhone valley to the Portes du Soleil. There is a bustling high street lined with a variety of shops making up a pleasant little town. Villars is mainly made up of chalet style buildings with a few hotels mixed in for good measure. 

Villars Skiing and Snowboarding

Villars has a good variety of wide, open and wooded slopes. The cog train heads up through the village to the Col of Bretaye which has intermediate slopes on either side. The other side has open slopes that go to La Rasse and link to the Les Chaux sector. Beginners will have fun on the village nursery slopes and also at the top of Bretayne. Intermediates will love the wealth of excellent blue and red runs. The reds and blues from the top of Les Mazots are worth a visit. Experts will find plenty of high mileage skiing and boarding throughout the area as well as some challenging long runs to test the legs on. However, the main attraction for experts will be the off piste and heli-skiing. There are long trails up the valley past La Rasse for cross country skiers. For those people looking for terrain parks then you will find them at Les Chaux and Chaux Ronde. There is also a half pipe at Les Diablerets.

Villars Apres Ski

The main après ski bars are The Sporting, the Mini-Pub and Charlie’s. There is also a Bowling bar and one nightclub. Off the slopes you can play tennis, go skating, snowshoeing, swimming or paragliding. There are also some good walks and trips on the train that are scenic.
